Hello Readers,
We are back after a short break.
We paused this newsletter in the last week of December. Actually, we were in a bit of a dilemma. Where did we want this newsletter to go in the new year?
Over the last six months, we observed that the same themes were playing out again and again. We kept asking CISOs and aspiring CISOs to do the same things! We analysed two pieces of news and gave you actionable intelligence from it. That quest for ‘actionable intelligence’ made our suggestions repetitive - sort of like an old grandfather saying the same things over and over again. Most of what we recommended was down to basic cyber hygiene and good vigilance.
Over the last month, we have explored various ideas for this newsletter. Some of you wanted us to explain what to do rather than just pose questions - sort of like ‘don’t make me think, tell me what to do!’. We even thought of doing a long form post per week, going into the details of one news story and bringing out the various nuances to you.
We decided to do the following:
Include specific actions for you to take
Continue the existing form of the newsletter (exploring current cyber events) - but get a little deeper.
Not keep the newsletter format rigid, but deviate when we feel that one piece of news requires a long form post or when we have some interesting people who want to contribute or an interesting product we would like to explore, etc.
When we come across something interesting in the cyber world and feel it is worth your while, write about it.
So, keep expecting the same interesting and thought provoking ideas from us, but in a more flexible format!
Thank you for your continued reading and feedback!
